Different is Good

Tired of music teachers who never teach you how to play anything? Bored with the typical outdated Classical "let's learn everything by rote and/or by force and hope it sticks" routine?

Kimberly Steele Studio offers a new, revolutionary approach to music instruction that inspires a love of learning music to last a lifetime. Schedule your free interview lesson and find out why we are very different from every single competitor studio in the Western suburbs.

The Kimberly Steele Difference

Even though Kimberly Steele is a music college graduate and Music Theory expert, at the Kimberly Steele Studio, we do not believe that Piano & Guitar students should be saddled with a pile of music writing busywork.

Learning music should be about joy and playing the actual instrument, not ancient disciplinary routines and drudgery. For this reason, Kimberly Steele Music Instructors teach Music Theory concepts such as Time Signature, note reading, scales, and finger exercises via a demonstration style that emphasizes the music, not the Music Theory.

The Kimberly Steele method of teaching encourages performance and joy. Students are taught to be entertainers, not tortured geniuses. Shouldn't learning music should be serious AND fun? All too many music teachers take the joy out of learning music. Another common syndrome is that music teachers "goof off" and neglect to teach kids basic music concepts. The Kimberly Steele method is different because we have circumvented the boredom through our unique demonstration method of teaching Theory.

In the first year, Kimberly Steele Music Students:

  1. Recognize Tonic and Dominant
  2. Know the four common mnemonic devices by heart
  3. Can identify ABA form
  4. Have memorized at least 3 songs for performance
  5. Can draw and identify Treble and Bass Clef

At Kimberly Steele Music, even though there is a healthy inclusion of the Classical tradition, it is only the beginning of what we do. Improvisation, interval recognition, Jazz, Blues, and Rock & Roll are all fundamental components of the well-rounded approach to music education that you will receive as a KS Music Student.

At the competitors' studios, you will find a disorganized, every-teacher-for-himself mishmash of methods, books, and teaching styles. At Kimberly Steele Music Studio, all of our instructors agree on standards that must be met of various levels of Guitar and Piano playing and all teachers use the same method series and supplements.

Kimberly Steele offers:

  • Standardized approach to lessons and Theory
  • Kind, positive words at each lesson as motivation
  • 1 hour 100% optional Recitals 2 times per year
  • Performance-goal oriented
  • Composition, improvisation and creativity developed
  • Jazz, Popular, and Rock music required
  • Students learn to read music by understanding keys and intervals
  • Digital recording on the premises

The competitors would have to travel light years into music future to even come close!
