How much do private music lessons cost?

Rates are $25 per half hour for all private 30 minute lessons and $45 for 60 minutes.

How much do I have to practice?

Practice time is different for everyone. For some, 15 minutes a day is fine, for some, 45 is necessary. You should practice your songs a certain amount of times per week according to how “mastered” they should be instead of timing how long you work on it per day.

Do I have to be in a recital?

No. Recitals are 100 percent optional in the Kimberly Steele Music Studio.

Is Summer off/ Can I go on vacation?

In short, no, summers are not “off”.  Families who quit during the summer are warned that a lesson time may not be available in the school year.  Sometimes this can lead to a student permanently losing a lesson time.

What if I am absent?

3 Free Weeks are allotted per student, per year. These are additional to Spring Break, Winter Break, and other selected holidays, weather cancellations, and teacher absences or vacations. One additional week may be arranged with special permission in case of severe emergencies only.

Can I make up my missed lesson?

Make-ups are based purely upon instructor availability: please keep in mind that all lessons are non-refundable and your instructor’s and Studio’s expenses continue even if students do not show up.  No more than one make-up lesson is allowed per student per month.  A make-up lesson will not be provided for lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.
