Music Lesson Policy

Here are the policies and rules of the Kimberly Steele Music Studio.

Music Lesson Policy


INTERVIEW LESSONS A free, no-obligation Interview Lesson is offered to all new music students. Interview Lessons last approximately 20 minutes.

LESSON TIMES Lessons are 30 minutes, once per week. 45 minute lessons are available to intermediate students based upon availability.

RATES 30 minute lesson: $25 / 45 minute lesson $36

TUITION Tuition is paid for 1 month at a time. Payment is due by the 15th day of the month.

Make check or PayPal payments to KIMBERLY STEELE. Payments can be dropped in the envelope outside the studio, or you may pay online via PayPal. Additionally, you may mail checks to the address provided on your invoice.

STUDENTS WHO PAY LATE run the risk of losing their lesson times. A $20 fee will be assessed for late payments made 2 days after the beginning of the next billing period.

HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS No lessons occur on the following holidays: District 203 Spring Break, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Halloween (Oct. 31), Thanksgiving weekend, District 203 Winter Break, Martin Luther King Day, and Presidents Day.

Adults may take extended absences and vacation time as long as times are pre-arranged in advance with teacher.

CANCELLATION Please make cancellations in advance with your teacher. Teacher cannot issue make-ups or refunds for same-day last minute cancellations. Please take this policy into special consideration before choosing the Kimberly Steele Music Studio. Please call (630) 561-6456 to notify us of cancellations.

RECITALS Two optional Recitals per year are held in Autumn and Spring.

EXPECTATIONS Please try to arrive to lessons on time. Because of large volumes of students, we are unable to alter the schedule for late arrivals. Please keep fingernails trimmed VERY SHORT, less than 1/8 inch in length. Shoes with thin, hard, flat soles are ideal for pedaling.

MATERIALS All books and materials need to be brought to every lesson. Beginning students require:
--a one-subject spiral notebook
--box-type metronome ($20 at any music store)
--Piano Adventures Lesson book, level assigned by teacher
--Recommended: music tote bag

PARKING Parking is available in the lots surrounding 500 E. Ogden Ave.

LIABILITY WAIVER By signing this agreement, I agree that Kimberly Steele is not liable or responsible for any injuries sustained on the premises of the 500 East Ogden Avenue building. Kimberly Steele retains the right to terminate lessons with any student or guardian of student who displays inappropriate behavior or who fails to respect Studio Policy.
