All About Recitals

Recitals are FUN! Twice a year, students show off their performance skills and have the chance of winning a goofy prize for Best Bow.

Recitals

Recitals Improve Confidence

Playing a music recital develops confidence in yourself. It's a big deal to memorize a piece of music and walk onstage and play that piece for a bunch of strangers. That's why we have two recitals a year at the Kimberly Steele Music Studio: they help to build confidence and give us major goals to strive for during the year.

Recitals Are Fun

You might have heard the horror stories of students breaking down in tears from anxiety during recital or parents pressuring kids to compete against each other. Not so at the Kimberly Steele Music Studio!! Recitals at the Kimberly Steele Music Studio are relaxed. No student is ever forced to participate: even at the last second, a student may choose NOT to go onstage. It's perfecty okay! Recitals are a nice way for students to see what their peers are playing and to see what they will be playing in the future.

You're Only Nervous Once

Playing recitals helps develop the calmness necessary for all types of performance, including public speaking. The more you perform, the easier and more natural it becomes. It's wonderful to have the confidence to go in front of a crowd of thousands of people (as many of my students have) and feel as calm as if you were in your own living room!
